The second part of the online training is a module focusing on how to read Cued Speech. This outcome is an answer to the needs identified by Cued Speech users, that most of them only knew how to cue, as they used the method only to help deaf or hard-of-hearing people understand them. Cued Speech reading is therefore a great support for a more efficient two-way communication. The module contains, among other things: an introduction to lip-reading linked to the International Phonetics Alphabet; an explanation of why cue reading is important for the deaf, other target groups, and their educators; an explanation of the different configurations of the hand with images; an explanation of the different positions of the hand with images and examples in silent videos, with and without cueing.
